Work Self Coaching lives at the intersection of executive coaching, leadership development, and personal counseling. The process creates space for the development of tools and strategies to enhance personal skills and organizational impact as well as a space for reflection and insights that sustain our role as workers over the long term.
Hitch Staff: There is a category of staff, often unrecognized, that is responsible for bearing the weight of many healthy tensions within an organization; these talented staff within an organization or company play the role of "hitch". Usually middle or upper management, "hitches" are responsible for linking the "engine" of a company with the "cargo". This may be a manager ensuring the connection between dynamic leadership pushing the group forward and the amazing staff bringing the vision to life or a project manager responsible for holding a team accountable while challenging individuals to step into greater ownership. This role is specialized but generally not recognized for the unique set of skills it takes to solidly hold together two critical elements while withstanding the inherent tensions. Coaching "Hitches" is a passion for Mariah as this is where she spent much of her professional career over the last 20 years.
Emerging Managers: Managing staff takes a robust set of skills and talents that is not "one size fits all". Each manager needs to develop systems and structures that work for them within the context of their work environment, and often, tailored for individual members of their team as well. Over the years, Mariah has created tools and models for successful management that she loves adapting for new managers.
Executive Leadership: Having spent many years in executive leadership roles, Mariah brings to the table lived experience with the joys and tensions of leading. Mariah works with executive leadership to make hard decisions, push team members forward, and develop the next level of professional satisfaction. This thought partnership is critical in supporting those responsible for the wellbeing of both the organization and the team.
